Sorry blogger, you're frustrating to no believe and take your sweet time to update feeds! Had enough.

Stash Dash: Not so easy

I was feeling quite confident and this weekend happened. Mason darted across the street at my church's yard sale, my left arm (now) is hurting quite a lot up in the bicep are like the right one was/is. I feel quite falling apart and I'm forty, so it's not making feel to eager to get older. Not to mention dealing with doctors and x-rays is something I sort of have to mentally pump myself up to go deal with. Mason running out really wrecked me this weekend (combined with the arm pain and not being able to do anything driving me flipping nuts) and has had me thanking God A LOT that nothing happened. I couldn't live with myself if anything happened to him or River. I'm rather tempted to cast on a simple-ish shawl out of one of the three yarns calling to me. Two of them I could gift for birthdays or the Holidays. I might bring the yarn to recake/reball to Draven's as I need to go in a little less then a hour out to his place.

Sunday's service was challenging to sit through let alone listen to since I couldn't knit and with a dull pulsating arm pain. I'm eager to watch and properly take notes once the video is uploaded to YouTube, like I usually do. I don't know how others are able to write and keep up with Pastor Shane's message. I finally got a new phone as the previous one had a cracked and splintered screen that I just had my limit so that's where the cash when to this month. Thank God for baby-sitting Draven again this month, and sometimes after the 23rd he's off school so that's going to be all day. He's not going to run from me or do anything stupid like run out in traffic, thank God. He's a little gaming nerd. Babbling to me about games like I have any ray of hope of following him.

With the pain in my arm, I'm not finishing pretty much anything sadly which is urking my self apposed goals and deadlines I absent mindlessly place on myself. The devil is working on me there, trying to get me to feel like it's something else I'm failing when it comes down to it, and as the Knit Girlls themselves say, 'imaginary points'. I know I shouldn't hang out at home but my spirit & energy/patience is just spent. I know getting my phat butt back to the gym, some what regularly does help, even though I'm not sure when I'm going to have time once I'm with Draven all day. Guess I will have to make good those days I'm off and go to the gym, when mom has him.

My loud drunk neighbors moved out so I'm hoping this might be a better summer then the past two years that I can live out on the porch. Glad I didn't make a stink about getting and putting up a screen divider now. Thank you God for that one! ;)

One Goal 2017 Down

Well I did it!

-crazy sauce happy dance with a cat-

I knitted my first sweater/top! I admit I haven't worn it yet because of the weather just hasn't been right for it. It's just what I wanted - not crazy big, as I would so look like the slob I feel, I am at times. I distinct remember another navy sweater I had back in the day that had a wide collar or was probably a v-neck at some point, but man did I wear the heck out of that top and it was over-size on me. I've learned that such tops just don't look good on my body type. Though I wish I did make it a little bigger but really, when I think about it, when it comes right down to it, I don't wear sweaters that often unless it's like after November type thing. I WILL wear it of course but just not in the next coming months.

Unless you've been under a rock, it's the Worsted Boxy by Joji Locatelli, who is currently hosting a Mystery Shawl that I keep playing with doing as it uses up five full skeins of fingering which I have and want to get rid of ... but they're in green! Psst, I LOVE lime green! Maybe after Stash Down, of course I say the same thing for Stephen West's Penguono that I rather do instead. Let's face it, it comes down to priority and being an adult. I have bills to pay primarily so these two projects will have to wait till fall and I have a bunch of WIPs done. As you can tell by the project page for my worsted boxy, I used three Caron Cakes Lemon Lime yarn mostly all on a 4.0 circular though. When or if I'm EVER feeling ballsy, I may frog back the top and do another 2-4" on the sleeves. Not just to use up the rest of the yarn but because even tough I didn't do any of decreases in the arm, it's still more close then I'm use to.

Me wearing said top.

I like to think I can always get my phat butt to the gym and work out a heck of a lot more for the top to fit even better, at least as a added bonus as to being able to keep up with the munchkins. I have Bernat Pop, similar to Caron Cake that I bought to make a sweater/top for a certain munchkin but in the back of my mind I find myself tempted to cast on another Worsted Boxy. God will tell what I end up doing with these four cakes of Bernat Pop that look and feel much more thick then Caron Cakes.

A First Stash Down Event

Since I'm not actively working on Cronic Knitter Design things having pretty much shut that down, only doing requests as the love is so gone with that. Oh man is it ever! One just should not be getting as upset and bitter as I was just doing a tiny small bit of work for it! Just wrong. It's from here that I learned the lesson of 'do what you love' so like a friend has done, I'm doing what I love. Knitting projects I want to and like to work on and if the love is lost it gets frogged (or stashed away for a job trade chance).
It was going to be like any other time a podcaster has mentioned a participation knit along sort of deal. I've known about the Knit Girlls Stash Down for quite some time and never gave it a second thought. Up till I made a post in the Stash Down Chatter thread, I was rather ashamed and felt way bad for having TONES of arcylic yarns and a small stash of 'Pretties' (a.k.a expensive yarn). By God's grace, he moved people to share, to comment and rebuked me (I think I'm using that word right). The feeling isn't completely gone, to the best of my feeling but I do feel a great weight lifted from my mind and thoughts on it hearing straight from people that I'm not the only one. That my sharing has helped others in some ways.

So I'm doing Stash down. Goal is 3k that's like some crazy amount yard wise but thinking of this in walking terms, I could walk this without killing myself and hurting my side groin muscle. When I pulled out the Wips it didn't look as much as I thought it was, just time consuming with some of them. Naturally I forgot three wips when I took the group shot - go figure.

The MeMe Monster Pattern

The MeMe Monster

Materials
- US 6/4mm Needles. Smaller than what the yarn calls for in order to avoid gaps in the knitted monster skin.
- Monster Guts [Stuffing] Feet: Only stuff the foot and not the leg. Eyes: Stuff both the ball and stem well as it helps for the to stick up. In earlier versions of this pattern I’ve also used straws in the stem part of the eyes to help in their sticking up.
- Large eyes or any of your choosing.
- White yarn
- White thread & sewing needle or glue.
- Darning needle for sewing on the limbs and eyes in the round.
- Accessories. Consider adding false eyelashes glued to the eyes before attaching them for a girl monster or a bow tie for a boy sewing it on a few rows under the mouth.

Cast On
: Using your favorite go-to Toe Up Socks Cast On the number of stitches given. Alternatively you could use the Figure Eight Cast On and count the slip knot, though, I don’t even do that but simply a twist in the yarn.
M1 (Make One): I typically have used the Knit through front and back loop on the first round and picked up the bar between the stitch and knitting through the back of the loop, which is considered the M1 L, left lean make one technique. Use your favorite make one method as long as it doesn’t leave a hole in the following rounds.

Thanks.
